The Overlooked Importance of Fantasy
In Gillian Anderson's 2024 book Want, she sings praises of Nancy Friday's book, My Secret Garden from 1972. Now, I sing praises for them both. They collected and published the deepest, secret fantasies of anonymous women, and here I am illustrating all of them. Little by little they all become real in many ways.
It has been observed from the popularity of these books that the sharing of our fantasies sparks a magic within our hearts to heal from the shame of simply having them, and being whole in confidence that desire is real and wonderful. Having desire does not make you a bad person; it does not exist to make you or anyone suffer.
Fantasy is the driver of the bliss body. This is how we tap into transdimensional highways and byways, alternate timelines, the fountain of youth, and dare I say the Kingdom of Paradise, effortlessly and with joy.
I shout this from the rooftops because we have forgotten the power of fantasy. We were told our imagination is just a silly, fleeting thing that has no bearing on the real world, and worse... to stop daydreaming so much.
But it is the very wellspring of all things. It is our special gift from spirit that helps construct our world. Every time we dream up how we are going to "save the world," it puts us in a very real frequency of salvation and unification in love. There's not much distance from the point of vivifying our wants with feelings of receiving them and ACTUALLY receiving them. In fact, without any expected interference, it is instantaneous.
But not all fantasy is wanted to be real in the physical world, and that's a wonderful part. We don't have to make them all real, though we could. We can just lavish atop our hordes of abundance or give them away. Either way, it is our choice when we know this power is real and we each have it, when unclouded by the ruins and baggage of our pasts.
This is why I love doing this, and I have all the motivation in the world to keep going. I've been illustrating my desires since I was a little girl and nothing makes me more excited to bring it out into the light of the world. I'm proud to present our fantasies and memories of sweet love and closeness, through exquisite line and brushwork, and expressive color and play. This is the world I've always loved and I recall many friends having fun putting color to the outlines I've provided.
